I really enjoyed this movie.  Of course, I have heard of Jackie Robinson, but I have never seen this movie.  I have learned a lot more about the game in general, and about the trails that tribulations that Robinson.  He had to stay in other places than the team, he had to leave his wife, and he had to face discrimination on and off the field.

Yes, I think that Jackie Robinson helped this country get over their discrimination and racism.  I think it made people realize that the no matter what skin color others were, it didn't matter because they were all working for the same goal, to win.  We must learn to break down the racial barriers if we want to progress.

I think that all of his values are important to use to face barriers.  One of them that is most important to me is his number 1; courage.  I think that courage is something that you always need.  You have to be strong enough to know your own values and have the courage to stand up for what you believe in.

I think that it means that one person's individual life is not truly that important.  The true importance comes from how much you change and effect other's lives.  I agree very much.  One person may live but not be known.  If they don't change other people than they did not make a difference in the world.

  1. I agree with you that Jackie Robinson's courage had a major role throughout the film because of how he handled the difficult situations that he came across. I think Robinson also faced sportsmanship as one of his major values because even though people gave him a lot of trouble he handled it well with his teammates

  2. I agree with you that Jackie changed this country. He let people realized how skin doesn't make a difference. I also agree with how you took Jackie s quote, that one's life isn't important unless you change others lives. The only thing I will disagree with you on is that I still believe that if someone doesn't change someone else's life that they aren't important because I do believe they are still important even if they don't change anyone but themselves.

  3. Good observations Bri. In my post I never mentioned how even the little things like moving around and living in different places from his teammates was impact-full to his experiences. Additionally I also learned a lot of details about his life that I wouldn't have known if I didn't watch the movie.
